Staff Council Charter
Samuel Merritt University's Staff Council is a vehicle for communication, peer support and community building across departments. At our monthly meetings we convey information, plan events and craft staff recommendations to President's Council that both support the needs of the staff and assist the University in fulfilling its mission.
Role and Function
Staff Council provides a forum to communicate, problem-solve and build community through particiation in meetings, events and recommendations by members from all departments.
Outcomes and Products
All non-faculty and non-exempt staff members of the University are invited to participate. Steering Committee Positions are all shared positions and as follows:

Generally our monthly meetings are held from 2:00 to 3:00pm on the third Thursday of the month. The people holding Steering Committee positions are to be reconsidered in March of each year, except the Co-Chairs which are to be reconsidered every 2 years.
Our President's Council Liaison is the Executive Director.
